2013 Fall Semester Starts Soon!
August 11, 2013
As most of you are well aware, the fall semester is almost upon us! We at Texas State AITP are anxiously waiting to get our organization moving once again for the fall, as we have several events and opportunities coming! Fall is one of our busiest semesters, but our members are truly what drives our success. We're looking forward to seeing familiar faces as well as new faces at our first meeting of the year on September 3rd!
We'll have our normal chapter meetings like this every month, but we'll also be introducing events such as our AITP Study Sessions, where top performing CIS students will be available for tutoring in most every CIS related class! We'll also be continuing on with our social events frequently as well, which were a big hit this past spring.
One of our biggest events this semester will be our fall High School IT Symposium, where high schools from all across Texas compete in IT contests head-to-head against their peers, as well as gaining knowledge of Texas State and what it's like to be in the IT field. We're going to need plenty of help, and our diligent board of officers have already been hard at work ensuring that this will be our greatest symposium yet! This will also be discussed in our chapter meetings as well as the ways our members can help us!
Last but not least, the AITP Region 3 Conference, the big Kahuna itself, is less than 11 weeks away! Last year we swept the competitions in Lafayette, and plan to do so once again in Oklahoma City this October! We'll once again have several prep sessions for the contests, and we'll be steadily gearing up to make it the best we can! We hope to see even more of our members participate in this amazing event.
If you cannot tell, we're pretty excited for this coming semester. There will be a lot of work ahead, but even more so there will be a lot of fun to be had. Expect more announcements and emails, and keep this page bookmarked; like us on Facebook, and follow us on Twitter for more updates as the semester approaches.
We expect great things to come from this semester, and we hope that you'll be right there with us.
